Let your Kingdom come Lord

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Matthew 6:10

July 17, 2021 my father passed from this life to the next. We had been able to visit him many times before moving to Romania, and he gave us his blessing in moving although he was on hospice care. We are grateful for all of the time that we were able to spend with him!

Grandma (my mom) and Timothy.

We are also so thankful that we were all able to travel back to the USA to be with family and attend dad’s funeral! He had served in the military for over 30 years and was buried at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. We had a simple but very meaningful service at the cemetery. My dad had asked me to sing “Taps” at his funeral. Yes, it does actually have words, and my dad often sang it to us when we were growing up. My dad also wanted all of his grandchildren to learn The Lord’s Prayer, the 23rd Psalm, and the 10 commandments. Each time that I was able to see him this year, he wanted to pray the Lord’s prayer together. Because of this, I also sang the Lord’s Prayer at his service. God helped me to be able to sing without breaking down in tears. I cried before and after, but not during the time I needed to sing. Praise God, He is so faithful! He comforts those who mourn!

Our children with my brother’s children at the big sand dune on Kiawanda beach.

It was a special blessing to be able to spend time with family remembering my dad’s life! We spent a few days with my brother’s family at the beach town my father often took us to when we were growing up. It was good to share memories with our children and pass on a love for the coast to the next generation! I am so thankful for God’s grace and mercy in making this trip possible!

We ordered some furniture from Ikea for our house here in Romania. Here the children are helping assemble the cabinets.

We have now been back in Șiștarovăț Romania for less than a week. We are still adjusting to the time difference, but it is so good to be back home! David has started working at his programming job again and that is going very well. Thank you for praying for us! We are asking that God’s kingdom will come and His will be done in our lives and in Friendship International Romania as it is in heaven!
